About Me:
I have been a Psychologist for the past twenty years, working in various organisations in Kenya and Abroad.
I received my Education and Training in the United Kingdom and Australia. Areas I have specialized in are – Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology (School Psychology and Special Education), Cognitive Science, Social Psychology and Personality, Learning Disabilities, Behaviour Management, Developmental Psychology, and Childhood Disorders.
I combine principles of Psychology, Counselling, Cognitive Science and Behaviour Therapy, as well as, Quantum and Existential approach, and Solution Focused Therapy, with other alternate healing modalities such as – Deep Breathing Techniques, Relaxation, and Mindfulness.
I am also a Holistic Practitioner and I strongly believe that balancing the mind and body are essential to our healing.
My Philosophy of practice is Holistic and Client-centred. I believe that each individual already has the wisdom and knowledge needed for their own well-being and healing.
I believe that Counselling offers you a safe space to explore your personal journey and reveal the limitations that you unconsciously place on yourself.
Exploration, with a little intuiting, helps you to understand the relational dynamics that may be showing up in your life and allows you to truly honour the single most important relationship that you will ever have; your relationship with you.
Self-love and self-mastery are key to our well-being and success. Being self-aware and having the capability to think and feel emotions with clarity and understanding is part and parcel of being human.
My role as a Therapist is to act as a guide along this journey and provide the tools to work with the inherently healing force within each individual. I believe a person has to work with their whole being – the body, the mind, the emotions, and the spirit – to effect healing. It is in the relationship between the various realities of a person that healing is released.
I also believe that the quality of the relationship between Therapist and Client is key to effective therapy. When a Client feels that a Counsellor really, truly sees and understands them without judgement, the potential for healing to take place is created in the Client.
